NFL Week 4 Preview

Big-time weekend ahead for us. At least one, if not both of us will be making a return to our alma mater for homecoming. The Pens will hoist their 3rd Stanley Cup banner to the rafters of the Mellon Arena. Oh yeah, and there's a solid docket of NFL games as well. We'll obviously have a lot more on the Steelers-Chargers matchup in our gameday post. As big of a game as that is, it doesn't crack our weekly preview.

The bye weeks begin this week, so there will be less games to surf through for those of you who have NFL Sunday Ticket. However, we're now getting to the point in the season where teams hit their stride. No one has won a Super Bowl in October, but playing well in the fall sets you up for a big prize in the winter.

Best Game of the Week: NY Jets vs. New Orleans
Strength on strength, weakness on weakness. The strong New Orleans offense goes up against the blitz-happy all-out-attack Jets defense. The weak New Orleans defense goes up against a decent, but overall mediocre Jets offense. Both teams are 3-0, and this has the makings of a tight game. We know the Jets offense can score in the 20s, particularly against a weak Saints defense. Can New Orleans' offense put up that much on the Jets D? Look for a late score to decide this one.

Most Intriguing Game of the Week: Baltimore v. New England
We all know Baltimore can play defense, but now they have an offense to go with it. With the poor play of New England's defense recently, would it be a surprise if Baltimore blew them away? No. However, Baltimore's secondary is without a doubt the weakest part of their defense, and if Brady gets things rolling this one could turn into an uncharacteristic shootout.

Worst Game of the Week: Tampa Bay v. Washington
Tampa is 0-3 and starting Josh Johnson in his first NFL start. Washington lost to the Lions last week.

Upset Special: Green Bay over Minnesota
Brett Favre craps on himself.
