Gameday 4: San Diego Chargers

Remember that time in 5th grade when you were riding the bus to school and some first grader puked all over the place and you had to deal with the smell of vomit all the way to school? Then when you got to school, some jagoff knocked your trapper keeper out of your hands and it fell down the stairs, busting all of the rings inside so that they didn't line up any more? By the time recess came around, you were ready to destroy someone, but it was raining so you had to go to the gym for recess. Now you're stuck sitting around doing nothing. Some little twerp steals your basketball. All hell breaks loose.

This is the situation the Steelers are in. They're ready to bust some skulls, and just need an opponent to take it out on. Screw all the "our defense is weak without Polamalu" talk. Blitz Blitz Blitz. Do you think just because the Jets have 2 CBs out this week they're not going to blitz the Saints? Hell no. They're going to come after them.

At home, we're a different monster. With the crowd at their back and their throwback jerseys on, the Steelers will terrorize San Diego's offense. Phillip Rivers is dangerous, sure, but he also likes to throw downfield. What does this mean? It means that he'll be sitting in the pocket for a few extra seconds for Harrison and Woodley to take advantage of the tackles.

Parker is out. So what. Mendenhall needs to prove his worth. Give the kid 25 carries and see what he can do.

Welcome back Carey Davis and Isaac Redman. Full throttle running game tonight.
