Wild Card Weekend: Day 2 -- Defense Prevails

I was all over this game with my preview. Baltimore's defense won this game, forcing Pennington into multiple interceptions, one of which was run back for a score. Miami's offense never got things going and Baltimore's defense was just too much for them to handle. Miami heads off to the golf course and Baltimore gets a rematch against Tennessee.

I hit the nail on the head with this one too. Minnesota's defense kept them in it for a while, but ultimately it was the passing game of the Eagles, specifically a screen pass to Westbrook, that broke the Vikings back. Minnesota needs a reliable quarterback to take some of the pressure off the running game. Peterson had a decent game, but Philly stacked the box, forcing T-Jax to go to the air. As the old adage goes, whatever problems you have in the regular season are magnified in the post-season. This was true for the Vikings special teams, who gave up a big return to start the game that swung momentum to the Eagles.
