NFL Week 1 Preview

Continuing our weekend previews from last season, here's what to look for in this weekend's slate of games.

Best Game of the Weekend: Philadelphia v. Carolina

One of last year's best run offenses takes on one of last year's best run defenses. This game has a chance to turn into a shootout with Donovan McNabb exploiting Carolina's weak secondary. If the game comes down to Jake Delhomme having to throw the ball, Philly will be in business.

Most Intriguing Game of the Weekend: Miami v. Atlanta

These two teams were absolutely terrible two years ago. Then they had stellar runs to the playoffs last season. Now, they try to build on their successes from last season. You have to like Atlanta here because of their running game, but Chad Pennington is efficient and Miami's defense is better than Atlanta's, which should make for a good game.

Worst Game of the Weekend:
Denver v. Cincinnati

Don't even bother.

Upset Special: Jacksonville over Indianapolis

Any time Jacksonville is playing Indy, you know they're going to give them a run for their money. Unless Indy boosts an incredibly improved run defense, Jacksonville will have the opportunity to make mincemeat out of Indy's front 7 on the ground. Unlike last year, Peyton is coming into the season healthy, so you have to like Indy in this one, but there's no other team that's enough of an underdog this week that has a chance to pull an upset.
