The Pittsburgh Steelers roster isn’t just one of the best
shows in football – their home stadium is also one of the best places to watch
a game in the NFL. 2014 has been a banner year for Heinz Field, as the a host
of new wifi hotspots, LCD scoreboards, and the best food and drink the
Pittsburgh region can provide have all provided a can’t miss stadium
experience.
Heinz Field is rightly praised for the quality and
affordability of its standard ballpark fare – think pretzels, pizza, hot dogs,
cheesesteaks – but there’s two new menu items that have fans raving. The first
is an amazing “Burger on a stick,” which comes equipped with panko-breaded
ground beef, cheddar cheese, relish, spicy ketchup, and a whole lot of bacon.
Heinz Field’s second signature food item is the ‘Arancini’
which are breaded rice balls stuffed with a combination of beef, veal, and
pork, to go with sweet peas and a healthy serving of Parmesan cheese.
You can wash either of these delicious treats down with more
than a dozen cold beer options, from Bud and Bud Light, to more sophisticated
craft beers or a seasonal Leinenkugal.
And when you’re done stuffing your face, take a walk around
the stadium during halftime or post-game to burn off those calories. The
stadium’s concourses are wide and often open-aired, providing a host of great
views of both the downtown skyline and the river. Even take the ferry to the
game for another uniquely-Steelers fan experience.
